– Sunday’s Timeline –

Persecution Story
Sunday was a brave leading member of a party fighting for justice against the ruling government party; for this, he was persecuted in Uganda. Sunday describes the tortures he faced, to the moment he decides to seek asylum.

Early Years in Japan
Sunday fled to Japan, leaving everything, his family, job and political activities. Starting a new life in Japan was difficult, as he struggled to meet basic necessities, along with limited support from the government. Sunday valued connections with people as an effort to re-settle in Japan.
Detention Center
“I am inside the immigration center, so I talk because I’m free to talk”
For Sunday, the hardest time inside the detention center was his first day, when he missed his family a lot and was very worried about them. Besides that, he says the other times were nothing for him because he was free to talk, meaning that he will not be persecuted for what he says with conviction.

Sunday Today
Sunday has stood up for himself and his country despite facing persecution in Uganda, but he continues to strive in Japan as a husband, a father and a political activist. Sunday talks about his hopes in the future, along with a message to the readers.
